Really Rare! 1 of only 25, Car number 88.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway number 88 out of 137 total.

This 1994 Corvette Brickyard 400 Official Corvette Convertible was used for the Inaugural Race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on August 6th 1994. This particular car is 1 of only 25 Corvettes, 12 black 13 red produced for this historic occasion. It was Indianapolis Motor Speedway number 88 out of 137 total Chevrolet vehicles used in the event. These Corvettes were used for specific pre-race parade vehicles to transport NASCAR drivers around the Motor Speedway. Car number 88 carried Ward Burton and Jimmy Spencer.  It also served as the parade car for Bill Lovejoy VP of marketing of General Motors. In the line up of the 22 corvettes in was in the 6th position. It was also the sixth red car produced in this group. Car number 88 was the First car to receive its decals for evaluation by GM and IMS. All 25 Corvettes were what GM calls Special Purpose Built by the GM Technical Center. It was reported that these 25 Corvettes got more Horsepower and other changes as they were to be used at Indy to give what Indy refers to as hot laps. Jeff Gordon was the winner of the first NASCAR race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After the race all 25 were returned to the General Motors Technical Center and reviewed for various evaluation purposes.
